| | The IM Compatible project was started back in 2000. At the time, there wasn't any program that unified all major instant messaging systems (ICQ, AIM, MSN, Yahoo) into one. We found about Odigo in the later part of 2000. From what we knew Odigo was the first program that unified all major instant messaging systems. Little by little it was harder to stay focused. Odigo had a good backing with lots of money. In the end, we never finished/released this project.
I consider this project a turning point in learning about network programming. It wasn't til this project that I really understood the importance of type casting and the design of protocols. Such as ICQ uses a structure base data, whereas MSN uses more of a text token protocol. The project hasn't been touched in at least 4 years. This means it probably has some bugs. I know the network engine has been changed many times over the years. I have included all the source code except for the network engine. Please at least give me credit if you use it. Feel free to email me if you have any questions.
