Towing Scam | 05-26-2008 - Give it away and pray business model Over at tech dirt the have an article about Give it away and pray. This is where you completely give your product away and pray that people will give you money. I've been curious about this business model recently. I was going to run a test of my own. Interesting enough they have some expected figures that I was shocked by. It mentions 1 out of every 1,750 downloads (0.057%) left some money. He talks about giving the infinite goods away for free, but the scarce goods to charge for. I suspect he was talking about something such as give the software away for free, but charge for the support. It can be taken a couple different ways, but I think we get the jist of it. (1) Comments
